Kingsway Needs You!

At Kingsway Primary & Nursery School, we are incredibly fortunate to have a committed, creative and enthusiastic Parent–Teacher Association (PTA), known as the Friends of Kingsway.

Our PTA plays a vital role in enriching school life for our children by:

  • raising funds to enhance their experiences
  • strengthening partnerships between families and school
  • building a strong sense of community and belonging

They are an active group of parents who generously give their time, ideas and energy to make Kingsway an even better place for our children to learn, play and grow.

What is the PTA?

The PTA is made up of parents and carers from across the school who come together to:

  • organise fun events for children and families
  • raise funds for projects that benefit all pupils
  • support school initiatives that go beyond what the school budget can provide

Every penny raised by the PTA goes directly back into improving children’s experiences at Kingsway.

How the PTA supports our children

School budgets are necessarily limited, and the PTA helps us provide extra opportunities and enhancements that would otherwise be out of reach.

A fantastic example of this is the OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) project, supported by PTA fundraising. OPAL has:

  • transformed playtimes into rich, creative experiences
  • increased physical activity and imagination
  • supported social interaction, cooperation and inclusion
  • improved wellbeing, confidence and engagement

The PTA has also helped fund:

  • art installations around school, making our environment vibrant, welcoming and inspiring
  • resources that support creativity, play and enrichment
  • special experiences that children remember long after primary school

These projects have a real, lasting impact on children’s wellbeing, learning and sense of belonging.

What do PTA members do?

Our wonderful PTA parents:

  • meet outside of school time to plan and organise events
  • run popular activities such as:
    • school fairs
    • discos
    • treat days

  • volunteer their time to:
    • help with events
    • build and develop projects around school
    • support play and outdoor learning initiatives

  • work hard to:
    • seek donations and prizes from local businesses
    • build community links
    • bring new ideas to life

It’s a brilliant way to:

  • get involved in your child’s school
  • meet other parents
  • contribute in ways that suit your time and interests

An inclusive and welcoming group

You do not need special skills, lots of free time, or prior experience to join the PTA.

Some parents:

  • help regularly
  • volunteer occasionally
  • support from behind the scenes
  • share ideas or practical help when they can

Every contribution matters, and every parent is welcome.

Join us – Kingsway needs YOU!

The PTA is always keen to welcome new members, new ideas and new energy.

If you would like to:

  • get involved
  • find out more
  • attend a meeting
  • offer help in any way

Please contact the school office, who will be more than happy to put you in touch with our PTA Chair, Jade Critchley.

Whether you can give a little time or a lot, your involvement helps make a real difference.

A heartfelt thank you

We would like to say a huge thank you to the Friends of Kingsway PTA for their dedication, creativity and commitment to our school community.

Their work helps ensure that:

  • our children enjoy rich, memorable experiences
  • our school environment is inspiring and fun
  • Kingsway continues to thrive as a caring, inclusive community

Together, we truly make a difference.

Kingsway needs YOU – come and be part of it!
