Wraparound Care
text
A Nurturing Start and End to the School Day
At Kingsway Primary & Nursery School, our wraparound care is an important extension of our school day. It provides a calm, consistent and caring environment where children feel safe, valued and ready to learn.
Our provision is run by Kingsway staff, who already know the children well. This ensures a seamless transition between home, wraparound care and the school day, supporting children’s emotional security, wellbeing and sense of belonging.
Relationships at the heart of our provision
Children thrive when they experience consistency and trusted relationships. Our wraparound care is led by familiar adults who work closely with the wider school team.
This means:
- children start and finish the day with adults they know and trust
- routines feel predictable and reassuring
- communication between wraparound care and class staff is strong
- children feel settled, secure and ready for learning
This relational approach mirrors best practice seen in highly effective schools and supports well‑being alongside attendance and learning.

If families are experiencing difficulty accessing provision, we encourage open conversation so we can support where possible.
A safe, compliant provision
Our wraparound care:

- follows school safeguarding and behaviour policies
- maintains appropriate supervision and ratios
- ensures children’s welfare is the priority at all times
Provision is inspected as part of the school’s overall safeguarding and personal development offer.
Working in partnership with parents
Wraparound care works best when school and families work together.
We encourage parents to:
- share relevant information that may support their child
- communicate with staff if routines or needs change
- talk positively with children about their wraparound experience
Together, we ensure each child:
- feels safe
- builds strong social relationships
- starts and ends the day feeling calm and cared for
A nurturing start and a positive end to the day
Our wraparound care supports children to:
- settle confidently into school
- build friendships across year groups
- develop social and emotional skills
- feel secure and valued
We are proud that Kingsway’s wraparound provision reflects our belief that relationships matter, and that every part of the school day should support children to thrive.
