We Care about Togetherness

Building Belonging, Relationships and Community Every Day
At Kingsway Primary School, Togetherness is at the heart of everything we do. It is more than a value — it is how our school feels, how we work, and how children experience daily life.
We believe that children thrive when they feel they belong, are understood and are part of a supportive community. Our commitment to togetherness ensures that every child feels safe, included and valued.
What Togetherness means at Kingsway
Being caring about togetherness means:
- building strong, trusting relationships
- including and valuing everyone
- working collaboratively and supporting one another
- listening with respect and kindness
- creating a community where everyone belongs
Togetherness in everyday school life
Togetherness is visible in every part of the school day:
- In classrooms – Children learn together, share ideas and support one another.
- At playtimes (OPAL) – Children cooperate, build friendships and include others.
- During routines – Warm welcomes and consistent relationships help children feel secure.
Togetherness through relationships and behaviour
Behaviour at Kingsway is rooted in relationships and mutual respect. We:
- teach children how to build positive relationships
- use restorative approaches to resolve difficulties
- focus on understanding, repair and growth
Children learn that:
how we treat one another matters.
Togetherness and safeguarding
Togetherness is central to safeguarding:
- children know there is always a trusted adult
- staff notice changes and respond early
- children feel confident to speak up
Strong relationships keep children safe.
Togetherness through inclusion
We are a fully inclusive school where:
- every child feels seen and heard
- differences are valued
- barriers are reduced early
Togetherness means everyone belongs and everyone matters.
Togetherness with families
We work in partnership with families through:
- open communication
- mutual respect
- shared responsibility for children’s wellbeing
Our commitment
Togetherness is not something we talk about occasionally —
it is something we live, every minute of every day.
