Safeguarding at Kingsway

Safeguarding is Everybody’s Responsibility
At Kingsway Primary & Nursery School, safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and sits at the heart of our school culture.
Safeguarding is not something we “do” — it is who we are.
Our approach ensures that children:
- feel safe, included and protected
- know who to talk to if they are worried
- trust that adults will listen and act
- experience school as a place of care, dignity and belonging
This reflects our values‑led, relational approach and aligns fully with statutory guidance and the Ofsted framework.
A strong safeguarding culture
Safeguarding at Kingsway is embedded through:
- positive relationships
- a psychologically safe environment
- a no‑shame, curiosity‑led approach
- early identification of need
- shared responsibility across all roles
Ofsted recognises strong safeguarding cultures where staff understand their role, act promptly and place children’s welfare first. This is central to Kingsway’s practice.
